Delete Your Account & Data
Your hunt record belongs to you, and that includes the right to take it back off our servers — some of it, or all of it. This page covers both.
DELETE SOME OF YOUR DATA, AND KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT
You do not have to delete everything to delete something. All of this is immediate, works offline, and syncs the deletion to our servers next time you have signal.
• A whole hunt — Open the hunt, then Delete Hunt. Takes its harvests, photos and dog records with it.
• One bird entry — Open the hunt, then Add / Edit Harvests, then delete the entry.
• A photo — Open the hunt, press and hold the photo, confirm. Removed from your phone and from our storage.
• A dog — Kennel, then the dog, then delete. Retiring instead keeps their hunt history; deleting does not.
• A licence or stamp — Account, then Licenses & Stamps, then delete the record, including its number.
If you want something deleted and cannot reach it in the app, email help@duckchase.app from the address on your account and tell us what to remove.
DELETE YOUR WHOLE ACCOUNT
Export first if you want a copy. Deletion is permanent and we cannot undo it.
In the app, Account → Export Hunt Data gives you a CSV of every hunt, harvest, dog and condition you ever logged. Once the account is gone, so is our copy.
If you still have the app, this is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
1. Open Duck Chase and go to the Account tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
3. Confirm. You will be asked twice, because this cannot be reversed.
Your photos are removed from storage first, then your account and all of its records are deleted. You are signed out and the copy held on your device is
cleared.
If you have already uninstalled the app you do not need to reinstall anything. Email us and we will delete the account for you.
Email help@duckchase.app from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my Duck Chase account". Sending from the address on the account is how we confirm it is really you — we will not delete an account on a request from a different address. If you no longer have access to that email, write to us anyway and we will work out another way to verify you.
We action these within 30 days and almost always within a few business days. You will get a reply confirming when it is done.
WHAT GETS DELETED
Everything tied to your account, not just the login.
Deleted — Your email address and display name · every hunt, harvest, and bird you logged · weather, habitat, decoy and blind details · shells fired · dog
profiles and their retrieve records · licence and stamp records, including numbers · county tags · every photo you attached · notes · your subscription record · the login itself
Retained — Nothing that identifies you. If you opted in to contributing to conservation data, county-level harvest totals you already contributed stay in
aggregate datasets. These contain no account identifier, no coordinates, and no way to single you out. You can turn that contribution off at any time before
deleting. Deleting your account also frees the email address, so you can sign up again later with the same one if you change your mind. It will be a new, empty account — the old data does not come back.
BACKUPS
Your records are removed from our live systems straight away. Encrypted database backups are kept on a rolling basis by our hosting provider and are overwritten within 30 days, after which no copy remains anywhere. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account and are not accessible for any other
purpose.
DELETING A PURCHASE OR SUBSCRIPTION
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and deleting your Duck Chase account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store you bought it from:
• iPhone or iPad — Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions
• Android — Play Store, then your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions
